USUAA can boast of another award received at the international Pastelium competition of pastel artists held in Kathmandu, Nepal, by Professor Oksana Gnatyuk from the Fashion Design Department. She presented her artwork "Squirre" in the Plein Air Painting category. The source of inspiration was a photograph made by Vladimir Tipikin, Professor of the university’s Graphic Design Department. The Fashion Design Department led by Professor Liudmila Kokoreva has developed a unique art-based teaching approach which is bringing excellent results in terms of graduate quality and their employment potential. Just attend any of the Fashion Design Weeks regularly held in the city of Ekaterinburg to enjoy really impressive catwalks of models wearing student garment collections.
